Earlier this quarter, Jay Evans transitioned out of his role as Asia Regional Director. Jay had been with Medic Mobile since 2013 and it was under his leadership that set up our Asia Regional office in Kathmandu. Over the next four years, our Asia office grew from a staff of three to seventeen and we developed partnerships in India, Nepal, and Indonesia. Most notably, Jay led our team as we negotiated a partnership with the Ministry of Health in Nepal, laying the groundwork for scale and sustained impact in the region.
“In his role as the first Regional Director in Asia, Jay exemplified service through action.” says Josh Nesbit, CEO of Medic Mobile, “When called upon, he stepped up for our team and the communities we serve. I am honored to have worked by his side for the past four years.”

While we are sad to see Jay go, we are delighted to announce that Shreya Bhatt has since stepped in as our new Asia Regional Director. Since Shreya joined Medic in 2013, she has been key to Medic’s success in Asia, previously supporting our team as India Program Manager and Director of Special Projects. In her previous roles, she provided essential partnerships and programmatic direction to the region.
“Shreya has been a key leader on our team in Asia for the past several years and we are excited about the new ideas she’s now implementing in the region as Regional Director”, comments Jacqueline Edwards COO of Medic Mobile, “We look forward to Shreya leading our team in Asia as we scale our work in Nepal. We are very happy to have a colleague grow into this role internally and grateful to Shreya for taking on this challenge!”

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in this new role! I’m inspired by what our team has achieved over the years. We have many exciting opportunities ahead, and I look forward to working alongside our team, and our partners, donors and frontline health workers in this next phase of our growth in Asia.” – Shreya Bhatt
